My First Day

When I was little … well actually right up into university, my parents would take pictures of us kids in our brand new school clothes in front of our house.

That memory floated through my mind as I walked to work today. Albeit, it was the first day of work, not school, but the memory surfaced none the less. When I checked my email this evening, my dad had sent an email wishing my a happy first day at work and mentioned the same “photo-on-the-first-day-of-school” thing. Ah yes, father and daughter think alike.

After work, a friend and I went down to a trendy little area with lots of little restaurants and bars and shops. We had dinner and then grabbed a coffee — the best cup of coffee I’ve had in a long time. Then we sat in front of her apartment and watched people walk past.

And that was the first day.

  1. glad work is going well thus far; I’m know things tend to feel better when you’re busy!

I’m confused by your money statement: you made $40 but your boss took $20 away from you? How is that? (maybe $20 = your happiness…?)

  3. $20 to Mr. Martin … as in Paul … as in taxes.
My boss’ name is actually Wolfgang.

    ps – congrats!!!
