Two of my current fashion delights are Rachel Roy (quite a delightful spring collection she has out – and not one of foodstuffs either) and J. Peterman (a new catalog is out – you may wish to send for a copy).

On my way home I turned to CBC’s “Disc Drive” for a friendly tune or two. And was I ever glad I did. I was privy to Chris Norman’s Reel Montreal … a traditional east coast ditty on flute. This was followed by Sarah Harmer’s I am aglow.
My evening shall now be called successful. One more person can now crochet. At Bible study this evening, I picked up some crocheting that happened to be laying around. (Later we discovered that we had correctly identified its owner from the four male house tenants.) I was working on said handiwork project when one of the girl commented she had a crochet hook and yarn but didn’t know how to crochet. So, 30 seconds later, she was on her way. Progressing quite confidently with even stitch formation I might add. Had I not known better, I would have suspected she had done this before.
I am rather excited about the young adult Bible study that Duane and I have been preparing for the next few weeks. Before Christmas, a number of individuals expressed interest in looking at spiritual gifts. I thought it was a great idea but wanted to take it in a little bit of a different direction.
The young adults are figuring out their lives, who they are and what it is they want to do with their lives (or at least the next 5-10 years). I’ve been there and have worked through many of those issues. Not to say that I’ve entirely figured things out but I am beyond the initial panic.
In addition to looking at what spiritual gifts are/are not and trying out a few different spiritual gift inventories, we will also be incorporating a few ideas from the book, “Why you can’t be anything you want to be” (AF Miller, Jr). Hopefully it will be a God-driven process through which they are able to gain a clearer sense of purpose and direction.
Think way back to elementary school. If you were fortunate enough that you mother bought the mega-pack of crayons (the one with the built in sharpener), you may recall the colour periwinkle. It was my favourite.
The glowing-blue snow in the just-barely-there sunlight of early winter mornings is periwinkle.
I am not a morning person but there are elements of the early hours that touch my soul: sunrises over the prairies, glowing snow, the chatter of birds and the stillness of the world before all awaken.
