Seven (a lot)
I feel the need to provide another update despite feeling like nothing terribly exciting or interesting has occurred since the last posting.
In working out plans (again), I discovered I have a mere seven weeks left in the country. And while that seems like hardly any time at all, it did give my pause to reflect (again) on my activities to date.
God is in everything; the series of coincidences that led to my time here and that continue to occur — these are not mere coincidences. There is a plan and a purpose, even if I am unable to fully grasp it. And so, I strive to fulfill my small but God-given purpose.
Slight delay on arrival to Africa was made better by night at nice hotel. Apologies to those who went to the airport at 2am to find I wasn’t there! Tried to make arrangements for projects but discovered staff to be on leave. Tried to make alternate arrangements. Prayed. A lot.
Theology professors arrived. At times, conversation difficult to follow but also listened to great conversation. Prayed. A lot.
Team began to arrive. Projects still not entirely set up. Time spent finding alternate solutions. Prayed. A lot.
Dynamics stressful at times. Projects exciting: nursing learning, pharmacy improving, children smiling, equipment being fixing, bananas being watered. Thankful prayers. A lot.
People leaving. Slowly slowly. House quiets. African adventures and new stories to tell. Still praying. A lot.
Family arriving. Last of new friends leaving. House has a bit more noise. Projects continuing. Praying. A lot.
Seven weeks remain. Preparing for projects new and old. Emails and meetings. Lists: making, losing, checking, revising … completing? Must remember to pray. A lot.
