The Sky Is Falling

Well, not really. But things could be better. You see, there are some chickens. The chickens (and a rooster) were left to be free ranging … but were eating the shoots in the newly planted garden. So they became enclosed in a slightly smaller pen. But no one really knows what to do with the chickens. What should they eat? How does one know if they are sick? Are they better for meat or for eggs? If meat, how do you get them bigger? If eggs, how do you get more eggs?

So, if anyone happening to read this has any experience in poultry raising, please drop me a note. And, just so you know what varieties we have, feel free to have a look at the family.

Apparently, thanks to a very kind poultry professor at my alma mater, the afore mentioned chickens are sick (coccidia?) and likely missing nutrients in their diet further exacerbating the illness.

So once again I ask: any suggestions?
